Corporations: Who are they?
In this article we develop some ideas taken from “The Corporation” by Michael Moore, we thank him for his contribution.
Who is the corporation?
By law the corporations are people, so they are protected by 14° amendment in the USA: the government protect them because they must do only financial interest of their shareholders (bottom line) and not that of the community.
People think that the corporations have feelings or personality, which follow sides, which have ideologies: in reality, they only want to reach their goal, namely to make more money.
There are organizations created to improve our quality of life, that of the community: of course there are other organizations created to improve only their own quality of life. How to develop the corporation?
The growth of the corporation occurs at the expense of the community: they realize what in economics is called “externalities” and they are free to act without moral, until we let them do it.
For example nike pays its workers below 3 / 10 of 1% of the selling price of a shirt … It means that if a shirt is sold 20 $, the worker who made it has been paid 6 cents.
